Suzanne Pirker Native Speaker

Hello! My name is Suzanne Pirker and I am a “Native Speaker” English teacher. I am originally from Boston, USA and now live in Groß St. Florian, where my husband is from. I also have a daughter who attends GIBS (Graz International Bilingual School). In addition to the US and Austria, I have lived in Basel, Milan and London.

I have a TEFL (Teacher of English as a Foreign Language) certificate from the International TEFL Academy in Chicago, USA and am also a member of the school’s Alumni Advisory board. After moving to Austria, I started teaching “Native Speaker” English programs to Volksschule students. My main goal for this age group is to make learning English fun for the students with a focus on speaking.  We do this by singing songs, reciting poems and playing games. Class sessions typically focus on a specific theme such as Autumn, colors and animals. I also do private tutoring for students of all ages.

When I’m not teaching English, I enjoy walking, kayaking, reading and travel. I am excited to be a part of the Volksschule Stainz this year!
